The direct management of the production process and the thorough component control ensure full compliance with the highest quality standards.
The service doesn’t end with the sale. It goes on after the lathe’s installation, which is carried out by specialized CMT Techservice personnel, and the original spare parts availability gives continuity over time in terms of performances.
A close relationship with the customer combined with an experience gained over 80 years of activity allow CMT to offer three product lines:

CMT starts its activity producing automatic lathes. |

Transfer of production from Voghera (PV) to Tortona. |

Traditional lathes production begins. They are marketed worldwide with the prestigious URSUS brand. Production departments are strengthened to fulfil the high demand growth. |

CMT becomes one of the major Italian machine tools manufacturers with 80 workers and 170 lathes produced per year. |

Lathes selection enhanced by the introduction of automatic devices with hydraulic interlock. |
| 1979 |  |
CMT puts on the market its first NC lathe with flat bed: the URSUS CNC 25. |
| 1985 |  |
NC product range completion with CDT slant bed turning centre: 2 axis (ASA 6”) and 4 axes (ASA 8”) both characterized by a high automation degree. |

KRONOS NC slant bed (ASA 6” and ASA 8” versions) presented at the Paris EMO Exhibition. |

The first teach-in CMT lathe, the URSUS PLUS, is launched in at the 18.BI-MU. |

Expansion of the NC slant bed lathes programme, adding ASA 11” and SUPER URSUS models. |

URSUS TC/TCH teach-in models introduced to the market (21.BI-MU) featuring significant technological advancements both in electronic and mechanical components. |

The company moves to the new plant currently used as the company’s seat. |

Techservice, a company that has been in the market for years and which can count in its ranks former CMT technicians, acquires CMT. Techservice guarantees continuity to the CMT lathes production, to the spare parts supply and to the care services of both new and old products. On top of that, it broadens the range of the offer thanks to the commercialization of new imported machine tools. |
